Out of Hours Care
Out of hours care is provided by GP24 service. You can contact them at 01 518 0808. If you are in need of urgent medical attention we advise you to contact the emergency services by dialling 999.
Prescription Request
Please use the new prescription renewal form available from reception or patients may also order repeat prescriptions easily online and collect from your local pharmacy. Some medication can be repeated without seeing the doctor however you may be asked to attend if the doctor feels it is appropriate. Please allow at least 48 hour notice for repeat prescriptions.
Prescribing Policy
Some medications require a 6 or 12 monthly review or blood tests. In such cases, you will be required to make an appointment. In conjunction with best practice guidelines, we actively discourage prescribing benzodiazepines or sleeping tablets on an ongoing basis.
Register as a New Patient
Regretfully we are not currently accepting new patients. You may visit the HSE website to find another GP in this area.
Get Test Results
Doctor will contact patients in relation to test results either by phone, text or email.
Using Your Medical Card
The GMS medical card entitles holders to a wide range of medical services from their nominated GP / surgery. These services are provided to the medical card holder free of charge and include standard consultations for treatment of illnesses and related services necessary for the treatment of a wide range of medical conditions.
Full medical card and ‘Doctor Only’ medical card holders are entitled to the same services free of charge within the surgery. There are, however, some services that are not covered under the Medical Card scheme. The most usual services requested that are not covered by the Medical Card scheme are:

- Medical Examinations or Reports for Legal Purposes
- Examinations relating to Insurance Policies
- Driving Licence Medicals and Eye Exams
- Pre-employment / School Letters or Examinations
- Letters/Forms in relation to attendance at the Gym
- Routine blood tests/STI screens
- Some Vaccinations (including travel vaccinations) are not covered by the HSE
GMS Medical Card patients requesting any of the above services are responsible for the relevant fees.
Information about Medical Expenses Recovery
It is possible to reclaim some of your medical expenses through the Revenue, you will need all receipts of doctor visits and receipts of medication. You can download a form Med 1 from Revenue and you then need to send this off to the Dept of Revenue.
If you have private medical insurance you can claim some of the expenses back from the company.

Cash, cheque, credit cards or debit cards.
Payment can be taken over the phone.
